The National Council for Palliative care is is the umbrella charity for all those involved in palliative, end of life and hospice care. The National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) set up the Dying Matters Coalition to promote public awareness of dying, death and bereavement.
NCPC and Dying Matters has been working with PeaPancake for several years on many of their projects.
A series of brochures called Difficult Conversations and focusing on particular diseases and how people with these diseases, family friends and care workers can talk to each other about end of life care.
A report design for NCPC and focused on the end of life care with the Lesbian, Gay and Trans Gender community and tied in with a short film which was produced about the topic.
A leaflet on end of life care for homeless people directed at those people who care for and deal with the homeless on a one to one basis and helping to make them aware of their options, family and friends to contact, etc.
Multiple leaflets, posters and postcards focusing on Dying Matters week, which usually happens in the spring of the year. These posters are them distributed to several hospitals and hospices around the UK for them to use and promote Dying Matters and the topic of end of life care to the community.
With every NCPC and Dying Matters project, their briefs are quite open and they are very happy with a creative direction. All of their material speak about and to real people about end of life care, so everything needs to feel human. Therefore, there is a lot of handwritten fonts and hand drawn illustrations. Friendly colours which relate to the topic of the piece while still incorporating both the NCPC and Dying Matters brands is a key consideration.
NCPC and Dying Matters have an extensive collection of brochures, leaflets and posters with valuable information for those discussing end of life care. It’s a part of life that we will all face and is a lovely charity to work with.
